The roof of the mouth is complete. Hair is beginning to grow, including eyebrows and the fine downy lanugo that covers the body for warmth. The thyroid gland is producing hormones independently of the mother for the first time.
Your Body at 14 Weeks Pregnant
Welcome back, appetite โ most people find nausea has substantially eased by week 14. The second-trimester energy boost is well and truly here for many. Frequently Asked Questions
What can I feel at 14 weeks pregnant?
At 14 weeks most people can't yet feel baby's movements โ the fetus is still too small and the amniotic fluid cushions everything. However, you may notice your uterus as a firm area just above your pubic bone. First movements ("quickening") are typically felt between 18 and 22 weeks for first-time parents.
Is round ligament pain serious?
Round ligament pain is very common from the second trimester onwards and is completely normal. It feels like a sharp, stabbing, or dull aching sensation on one or both sides of the lower abdomen or groin, often triggered by sudden movement, sneezing, or laughing. Resting and changing positions slowly usually helps. Persistent or severe pain should always be discussed with your provider.
